Ingredients for Cherry Cobbler
Cherries: Use either fresh or frozen cherries in this recipe. Canned cherries work too, be sure to drain them. I use this style of cherry pitter since you can do several cherries at once (you can also remove pits without a cherry pitter).
Cobbler Topping: This cherry cobbler is cake-like and easy to make with simple ingredients you likely have on hand. Flour, sugar, milk, and butter. You can add a little bit of vanilla extract or almond extract if you’d like.




How to Make Cherry Cobbler
- Toss cherries with sugar and set aside.
- Make the batter topping (recipe below).
- Melt butter in the baking pan and pour the batter mixture over the melted butter. Top with cherries.
- Bake until the cobbler is set.
Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Storing Leftovers
- Cobblers taste just as good the next day! Keep cherry cobbler covered in the refrigerator in an airtight container for about 4 days. Enjoy it cold or heat portions in the microwave.
- Cobbler can be frozen as a whole or in individual containers once it’s fully cooled.
- Wrap portions in foil and then plastic wrap and freeze for up to 1 month.

Cherry Cobbler
This easy cherry cobbler recipe made with fresh cherries is an unforgettable late summer treat!

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

In the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish, add the butter and place it in the oven to melt, about 3 to 4 minutes.

Toss the cherries with ¼ cup of sugar. Set aside.

Meanwhile, combine the remaining sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir. Sprinkle the cherries overtop.

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until the cobbler is set.
If you want to freeze cobbler, wait until it’s completely cooled. Wrap portions in foil followed by plastic wrap and freeze them for up to 1 month, either as a whole or in individual containers.
