The compact OnePlus 13T won’t release in the US

recently released its new compact smartphone, the

OnePlus 13T
, in China. While it was initially uncertain whether the 13T would be available in the US, OnePlus has now finally shared its plans.

A OnePlus spokesperson has confirmed to The Verge that the OnePlus 13T (known as the OnePlus 13s in India) will not be available in the US, Canada, or Europe. In its statement, OnePlus said, “We currently have no plans to launch the OnePlus 13s in Europe.” OnePlus North America reportedly shared the same statement about the US and Canada.

There was a brief glimmer of hope that the phone would be launched in overseas markets after OnePlus announced it was launching the OnePlus 13T, re-branded as the OnePlus 13s, in India. However, OnePlus has crushed those dreams, for now.

The most captivating aspect of the OnePlus 13T is that it is a smaller version of the

OnePlus 13
. The OnePlus 13 features a 6.82-inch AMOLED display, while the 13T comes with a 6.32-inch AMOLED display.

If you’re a fan of smaller handsets (and yes, in this day and age, 6.3 inches is considered small), the OnePlus 13T presents a viable alternative to the OnePlus 13, which is one of the most renowned Android smartphones currently available in the US.

Even with its condensed size, the OnePlus 13T boasts a massive 6,260mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging. Usually, smaller smartphones skimp on battery compared to their larger counterparts, but that’s not the case with the 13T. The biggest compromise the 13T makes is dropping one rear camera module compared to the 13, only sporting a 50-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.

If you’re looking to pickup one of OnePlus’ latest smartphones, you’ll have to settle for its two bigger options in the US: the OnePlus 13 and

OnePlus 13R
, which boast 6.82-inch and 6.78-inch displays, respectively.

Admittedly, this news about the 13T is not entirely surprising, especially with the threat of further US tariffs on China looming. Right now, the Trump administration has exempted smartphones and computers from tariffs, but it’s unclear how much longer that will last. Hopefully, one day a compact version of OnePlus’ flagship will launch in the US.
